- Small /Large onion-1cup
- Tomato-1/4cup
- Tamarind Water-1/4cup
- Mustard seeds
- Curry leaves
- Asafoetida-1/4tsp
- Red-chili-1
- Cumin seeds-1/4tsp
- Shred Coconut-1/3cup
- Cinnamon-1/4stick
- Cloves-3
- Aniseeds-1/2tsp
- Ginger-a few(optional)
- curry powder-1 1/2tsp
- salt-to taste
- water-3 1/2cups
To Grind:
- Take a blender,drop shred coconut,cinnamon,cloves,aiseeds,ginger and water.
- Place a kadai and add oil,mustard seeds,cumin seeds,curry leaves,asafoetida and red-chili.
- After popping the seeds add finely chopped onions.
- Onion comes in golden brown and add finely chopped tomatoes.
- Add a tamarind water,salt ,curry powder and mix well.Wait for 5mins.
- After add 3cups of water and boiling well.Wait for 8mins.
- After boiling the water add grind paste and add balance cup of water and mix well. Wait for 10mins.
- After 10 mins.Hot and serve with boiled rice and appalam.
