DRUM STICK CHICKEN CURRY GRAVY/KULAMBU



My husband bought the Drum Stick.I do not know how to prepare the Drum Stick chicken kulambu.I tried only fry the Drum Stick chicken. I have a lot of confusion and referred more sites.All sites are says different ingredients.Some tips are helpful to me.I have an idea just to prepare these are the ingredients in chicken gravy.I tell the truth this is my first time i tried this recipe really very good.
I have prepared Drum Stick gravy but smell comes like mutton gravy.


Ingredients:
  1. Drum Stick Chicken-5 piece(1/2kg)
  2. Large onion-1
  3. Tomato-1/2
  4. Coconut/Shred coconut-1/3cup
  5. Poppy seeds/khas khas-1/2tsp
  6. Aniseeds-1/4tsp
  7. Cashew-nuts-5
  8. Green chili-3
  9. Red-chili powder-1/4+1tsp
  10. Pepper powder-1/4tsp
  11. Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
  12. Coriander powder-2 1/2tsp
  13. Cumin powder-1/2tsp
  14. Curry powder-1 1/2tsp
  15. Gram masala-1/4tsp
  16. Salt-to taste
  17. Sesame oil/Nallennai-1/4cup
  18. Curry leaves
  19. Water-2mug

To Grind
  • Take a blender,drop cocout slices/shred coconut,cashew-nuts,poppy seeds,aniseeds,water and blend well in smooth paste.

Method:
  • Cut the drum stick into small size.

  • Place a chicken in a bowl,add red-chili powder,pepper powder,salt,turmeric powder and mix well.Rest for 15mins. 
  • Take a kadai,add sesame oil,mustard seeds,curry leaves,onion,green-chili and ginger-garlic paste and fry well.
  • After raw smell goes out add all powders,gram masala,salt and mix well (except pepper powder).
  • After add the marinate chicken mix well and cover it for 2mins.



  • After add grind paste,chicken and mix well.Cover it for 1mins.
  • After 1mins add 2mugs of water mix well and cover it for 10 mins.
  • After 10mins add some curry leaves,tomato and cover it.boil 20mins.
  • Chech the chicken is ready or not.
  • If ur chicken is fully cooked and remove the heat to transfer the bowl.
  • Hot and serve with "Boiled rice,Dosa,Idli,Curd rice,More kulambu,Rasam rice".
