Ingredients:
- Valaipoo/Banana Flower-1no
- Red-chili-5
- Onion-1/2cup
- Shred Coconut-1/3cup
- Mustard seeds-1/2tsp
- Curry leaves-1/2strand
- Turmeric powder-1/4tsp
- Salt-to taste
- Water
- Oil-for frying
Method:
- Before you touch the flower for cleaning,either use gloves or apply sesame oil on both of your hands throughly.This prevents your fingers and nails turning balck and ugly.
- Cut the pedals from flower take out the string at the center and chop into small pieces and soak in water to avoid turning dark.
- Take a large bowl,add water,salt,turmeric powder and chopped banana flower.Boil 15mins.
- After 15mins banana flower is cooked.Remove the banana flower and filter the water.
- Take a non-stick pan add 3tsp of oil,mustard seeds,curry leaves and red-chili.
- After popping the seeds add banana flower,salt and fry well.
- Finally add shred coconut and mix well.
- Hot and serve with "Boiled rice and Rasam Rice"
